Finding the right bodybuilding program and diet to go with it, can be quite a challenge, especially if you are new to this. You also need to plan how many days a week you are going to workout for, how many exercises to include, how long your rest is going to be and so on. All the information available online today can make this process overwhelming. However, what you need to remember is that the first step in getting started is actually – getting started. Even if you are not sure about finer details about your training, just start anyway. If you don’t, you will end up spending more time contemplating training than actually doing it. You do however, need to have a sound strategy in place. As long as you are doing exercises that are designed to build muscle and you have your nutrition right, there is no reason for you not to see results.
Nutrition is key to your results. You need to make sure you get your daily intake of amino acids and carbs. There are times in the day when you probably can be more flexible with meal times and the composition of your meals, however before and after your workout you need to be spot on. This is not negotiable, and you need the right proportions and amount of carbs and amino acids immediately before and after you workout.
Focus on exercises that work at least two muscle groups. You have limited time in the gym, due to your job, family and other daily activities that consume your time. You also need to give your body enough time to recover between workouts. So with this said, your time in the gym is limited and you should be spending at least 80% of your workout time doing exercises like shoulder presses, bench presses and squats, as these exercises workout two muscle groups at a time.
You should be lifting more weight over time. This basically means, challenging yourself constantly. As time progresses and you get into your routine and gain muscle, you should be attempting heavier weights each time you work out. This shows that you are progressing in the right direction,. Bodybuilding is not easy by anyones standards. It requires dedication, commitment and sacrifice. However, there are various established bodybuilders out there that will be glad to give you bodybuilding tips to help you on your way.
